We’re in the process of making a few changes to Facebook gifts to remove some problematic gifts and streamline the process so that there are less “spammy” gifts or gifts that encourage players to use multiple accounts to get the full benefit.
Our other goal is that we don’t want players to feel forced to use Facebook to enjoy Evony. We want Facebook to be a fun addon to Evony, but not a required step.
Our first step in doing this will go live this maintenance cycle and we’ll be modifying the Execution feed to change the reward from Speech Text to 1000 gold. Speech Texts are far too common right now, and having a chilling effect on combat.
We’ll also be removing the amulet option for gifts. Of course, Aries Amulets will still be available for free from the daily quest in game, just like in Age I.
Finally, we’ve disabled the Commission Quest temporarily to fix a potential exploit. This quest will be re-enabled again in the very near future.

The problem isn’t the bots, or the coiners, in fact the problem is the huge imballance between coiners and free players. Low end coiners barely get a boost, but by spending more they gain a great deal more. The amulets gave players who can’t afford to buy coins a way to try to keep up with the paying members, not even the botters can gain that advantage. The only good the bot does in fact, is keep their food level from dropping so fast they can’t keep up. Really it’s not even a comparison to coiners still. I’ve seen coiners who spent over a thousand dollars the first month and maxed their armor, as well as title, and then horded historic hero’s like there was no tomorrow. Historic hero’s give coiners a huge advantage early on, and until a hero is maxed on level and at least lvl 6 armor, they are nearly impossible to defend against. This “improvement” only goes to giving coiners the ability to god stomp the lot of the community further.
Bot’s not a problem ? Yeah..ok..try to attack a botted city. It pulls from other cities for reinforcement, can continuously apply truces(n circumventing the evony system ), buy and sell on the markets, farm, train troops, open and close gates as needed, apply appropriate strats, and who knows what else …all the while the bot using player is at the beach or sleeping, and that isn’t a problem t? IF evony staff thought about it, someone botting actually doesnt need to spend a lot of money, since their bot attains everything they need. The only players spending money, are the players trying to beat the bot, which takes a lot of “stuff”. So, this is why evony staff apparently endorses the bot users – inspires non-cheaters to open their wallets and spend in an attempt to overcome the botted cities.
The server I play in – ALL the HC’s are going to a small alliance, whose players ALL use bots. And that inspired me and many others to close our wallets. No point in spending our money, staying on-line for extended hours, playing against software.
they should remove the bot players out from evony this will solve the problem all players are now bot players on evony sad it kill the game thats it for me on evony

i just see it as a waste of time trying to kill bots mostly they ( the Player ) is laughing knowing they will win sooner than later u will lose all your troops or quit beforehand seeing its a bot and then spending what money u have that could could went somewhere else it should be a game where u can play and if u wanna buy spend then only be able to in a certain amount be fair you know lots of people play for the fun not the money going in it to get ahead sure its great if u got it but lots don’t and are unemployed anyway thats a look at it too
I only read some of the comments but it is true that this is a bunch of BS. I played evony for a long time and it always seems that all you care about are the coiners and the rest of us could go F*ck ourselfs. I geuess that this is logical becaus this is where all of your money comes from , but still saying that speech text is making war unfair is bullcrap because people who coin just spend $100 and buy a bunch so they are fine. The speech text that i got from Facebook was the only ones i ever got and it helped me save my 10. I am just saying that this whole thing is BS. you are gonna lose a lot of players. You should really consider making a NO COINING server!!!

I think it will improve the game a lot having it gone, if they could just remove all of the unused accounts/city’s (alts) it would make the game better yet in my opinion.

Amulets don’t impair the strategy of the game and I question the posts by the few people in support of Evony’s changes because most seem to come from people who don’t even like or play Age 2, people who coin and want to have a greater gap between the coiners and noncoiners, or people angry about botting who somehow have confused botting with amulets when in reality botting will only increase now in lieu of amulets. Can’t get speech texts by legitimate Evony posts like you once could or win them with your free legitimately gained amulets from FB? Just get a bot and set it to comfort for you so you are always safe. Every change that takes something from the game that Evony gave us does cause players to leave. People can say oh suuure you’ll leave. Okay yeah right. But it’s true. Every successive change has impacted my server and the number of active players. Every new change where something beneficial was lost/stolen, more left. Now my server is hanging on by a thread. Some people go on and say hi in the wc and it stays quiet for hours. I have gotten to the point I don’t want to waste my speakers because I’ll have to be gifted those to interact. There are more non-coiners than coiners. The coiners need us to keep the game fun and exciting. Those of us who are bad at the game and can’t make headway, we become farms for the big players and coiners. Those of us with skill who don’t coin create a fun challenge for the coiners and entice them to spend. Then some of those coiners illegally sell their accounts to people who will certainly coin. The thing Evony overlooks is that if someone spends $1,000 or more on a game they bought, odds are they’ll want to protect that investment by…you guessed it, buying in. Your business sense is strange at best. And you probably won’t go out of business yet, but eventually I think so. There will be new players who never knew about the free ports you could get (random ports) via FB, or the speech texts, or amulets. So you’ll benefit from that. But eventually when they see the game is free forever but you’ll also be playing that long to get level 10 gear, they’ll quit. Evony takes up too much time and energy to keep playing when there’s no perks anymore. And the strategy so many speak of, I’ve seen plenty of big players and alliances and the strategy seems to be account sitting, shared logins, botting, and making false accounts to spy on the enemy. That’s not strategy. I’m glad I got my gear up in time but it’s almost as if it didn’t matter I don’t even feel like playing anymore. I’m sad I wasted over a year farming and working hard on troops and gems and stars and gears only to have a dead server. Gears to ten are really valuable with few players left, and many of them are bots and it’s impossible to play fairly when you’re playing against a program. You might be able to win against a bot but it will never be fair. Evony let me down. Evony doesn’t care to read any of our comments. Evony will never have decent customer service or care about non-coiners and they’re too narrow minded to look beyond the obvious that the coiners keep their site flush with cash, and look to the reality that the coiners won’t pay so much to fight each other when there are a handful of them left because the non-coiners either went back to their lives that weren’t consumed with hours of evony or they changed games.
People, relax a little. Everyone survived in age I without all the freebies from facebook. 99 times out of 100, the wheel gives you junk anyway. If removing 20 amulets per day makes you want to quit the game, then you probably aren’t a great player anyway. You can survive, excel, and do well without coining and with only 1 amulet per day. Quit throwing temper tantrums. The game is still free if you want it to be.
Now some claim Evony don’t care about us. If that is the case, then it seems a bit offer to leave a comment here.

People were not using multiple accounts to streamline gifts, but to sway the voting process one way or another on each server in order to win the votes for that side. Maybe, just maybe evony should pay attention to stats of servers and whats going on, theymight realize its not a problem with the gifts, but a problem with the cheaters with the multiple accounts swaying the votes on the servers to win governorships. I ask, have they looked at this?

The easiest solution to the ammie problem would be to take FB out of the gift giving loop, and just let us gift directly to our allies. Other games use that method and it works great. This would also keep FB ‘updates’ from screwing with the process, like they have in the past. It would also make it much more difficult to have multiple accounts on the same server, I would think, as long as evony programmers actually pay attention to IP addys.

The wheel gives Age 2 players the materials for GEARS. Why are Age 1 players saying we don’t need the wheel? With 20 spins a day in a year you can spin probably enough materials and farm enough to earn your lost armor scripts to up your gears. With fewer spins that’s 1 chance a day to get materials. Forget anything else on the wheel. You need the wheel for materials. I have never farmed ever and earned materials. So please Age 1 players either play age 2 and look at the process of upgrading your gears and see that you can’t go about 2 or 3, I forget now as I do have mine at 10 already, without the materials you slowly earn on the wheel. You don’t have gears and you don’t have to worry about fighting a battle against someone who has level 10 gears and a 15 star set. Skills or not the amount their troops can kill when compared to a low gear player is totally out of whack. We’re not throwing tantrums. We’re mad that a game that’s “free forever” requires us to have gears that now you can only pay for, and you’ll have to spend a lot to get them. To make a comparison, that’d be like sending someone out in an actual war in a tshirt and shorts barefoot with a stuffed horse to “ride” and a stick to use as a sword versus an actual soldier. Get hit by someone with level 10 gears and a 15 star set and see how much skill matters. You cannot change the fact that gears impact the stats of troops lost and killed. If Age 2 becomes like Age 1 then there’s no Age 2. It’s just a slightly varied version of Age 1. The gears thing is undeniable and the Age 1 players commenting on here honestly have no business commenting because if you don’t have gears you don’t understand what it takes to upgrade them.

I am truly sorry that this improvement has such a negative impact on the players. I hope Evony willl hear the voice of the players and reconsider its impact. I understand why Evony thought this change makes the game “better”, but they must see how the players feel about this change and reverse the decision.
Please Evony, rethink this and go back to the way it was.

Every action Evony takes is to get less ans less players to pay more money. Evony needs fewer players to spend more money to make up for the players they lose by their greedy actions. Come on! Evony is a for profit game, a business and they are terrible at marketing for new players so they want exisiting ones to keep their profits up. Thats a business plan for bankruptcy.

Heres something different…. Kudos to Evony for removing ammys from the gift options, it needed to be done and Evony, please make angel and devil packs available all day everyday, they are wonderful for messing up botters. Ty Evony for the last 2 years of fun

well, at least i finally won the rose medals i needed off the wheel before they ruined poor people from ever having a chance to win at this game. ive only been playing 2 months, and havent farmed a single rose medal yet, only got them off the wheel. ill be looking for another game, there is zero point to playing this one if you dont have a chance to keep up with the rich kids that buy everything.
I still miss the amulets!! It was a fun part of the game. Even when it got boring I still looked forward to ammy-time. Not really sure how a person who coins only a little is going to get gear now. Guess it is spend and get gear or don’t even bother playing. The chat has slowed down so much in our world chat that it almost feels like a ghost server
I HAVE PLAYED EVONY FOR 2 YEARS, LOVED HAVING THE SPEECH TEXT FROM THE POSTS ON FB AS WELL AS BEING ABLE TO GET AND GIVE THE FREE AMULETS. SO YOU WILL NOT GET ANYMORE MONEY FROM ME I AM QUITTING THE GAME THIS IS NOT RIGHT TO DO THIS TO PLAYERS THAT ENJOYED PLAYING THE GAME AND MEETING NEW PEOPLE.
wow, so many, happiness chests in my mailbox, all Evony had to do is do “double cents”. kinda sad that people caved in.. don’t you realize you’re still paying through the roof for the stuff that you used to get on the wheel? don’t you see that you’re just punching bags for big time spenders now? can’t you go just a little without spending??
Just another tatic to make more money, dont want people to win stuff on amulets so much so they just take away so people coin more money for them, evony keeps getting worse and worse for this, the amuletr already gives out bad enough “gifts” as it is
@ Denis. Those chests you are seeing are just evony employees getting their free stuff and enticing you to spend as well. All the top players and HH holders are just evony plants sent to the servers to ‘dangle the carrot’ so to speak, don’t fall for the lies anymore!!
