An Epee is a modern derivative of medieval dueling and fencing swords. These swords are designed to pierce with an emphasis on quickness and precision–a far cry from the heavy and cumbersome broadswords and long swords which rely on the force of their impact to crush, gouge or hack.

Update: The servers are online and everything is working right!
A problem which cropped up with the Easter event on server 160 and wn1 that is preventing some players from claiming their Easter package after making a purchase. As a result we’re taking these servers down temporarily to correct the issue. We expect this maintenance to take 1-2 hours and when they come back online, anyone who made a purchase should be able to claim their package.

The Evony Team firmly believes that lag should never come between you and a good time. Because of that, we’re always working to improve performance and reduce latency on all our servers. We’re approaching this goal from two sides: we’re continuously improving our hardware and looking for ways to streamline server performance.
We’ve recently made a change to servers that will significantly streamline and improve performance, by changing the way some reports are handled. To do this, we’ve created a new chat channel where some battle statistics will be sent. When you conquer a valley or NPC city or make a purchase through the market, a snapshot summary of the information will be sent to a new chat channel, instead of the old report tab.
This change means faster server performance and less latency by freeing up server power to handle battles, scouts and reinforcements more quickly! You’ll still receive full detailed reports for any battles against players as well as any time you suffer a defeat against barbarians.
We hope you like the improved performance from these changes and we want to hear what you think! We also would like to know what other information or features you would like to see in the new channel. Your feedback is very important to us as we continue to refine this new feature!

7:02 a.m. Update: The server is up!
The WN1 server has encountered a hardware fault, and as a result we are extending the normal maintenance to replace the piece of hardware that is giving us trouble.
We expect this maintenance to take about 1-2 hours. Sorry for the inconvenience, and we’ll post here if there is a change in the ETA!
